Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 102 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing/reading on a weekly basis in an informal forum.

Two themes/topics that have caught my attention are Long Distance Relationships and The Language of Animals. Mainly because I relate to both of these. I just ended a (technically two) long distance relationship(s) (LDR). I believe a LDR can help us have a perspective that we wouldn't have otherwise. In other words, the physical distance/separation, would help us analyze our relationship without the physical aspect that may influence different decisions or cloud our judgement. Better choices can be made. Secondly, I am super interested in the language of animals because, as outlandish as this may sound, animals are bilingual. A dog can understand a young girl's command to rollover in Korean and would follow that instruction, but I would have no idea what she said. So the dog knows something I don't. If this is your topic, do you share my point of view?
ReplyDeletethanks for your interest in my subject, i am writing on long distance relationships, because i am currently in one and chose to write about it because of the negative responses that i got from most of my friends when i told them about it. people seem to believe that loving from a distance never succeeds but in the society today there are a lot of things that help make a person feel much closer to their loved ones even when if they don't live in the same environment it might not be as good as the physical touch but it is also not has bad a people think it is.
